In January 2020, I decided to embark on my 200-hour yoga teacher training with Rise + Vibe Yoga, not exactly sure where that would lead me, but knowing that I wanted to learn more. I have always been intrigued and inspired by movement, whether it's enjoying a dancer's elegance, feeling the satisfaction of a perfectly executed shot on goal, or teaching a movement pattern that improves function and reduces pain. It is tremendously satisfying to witness, and even more so to know that I personally have influenced it directly.
When I began teaching fitness classes and Buti Yoga, I knew there was something intangibly unique about moving together in a group. There is an energetic exchange between participants, myself included. I needed to learn more about that, the movement of energy that was so palpable in class, the VIBE. I intended to complete my yoga training at an intensive 3 week retreat in Vermont in summer 2020, but it became obvious that this experience was not in the cards. As the world locked down, and we all withdrew, I took a long pause for introspection, and finally in 2021, decided that the time was right (again) to begin the training in earnest. Virtual training hours accumulated incredibly slowly, and I decided to complete a large portion of my hours at an in-person retreat in the Dominican Republic in February of 2022. I knew I needed that group experience to fully integrate the knowledge, to feel collective meditation experiences in my physical body. And almost simply to re-enter the WORLD again post-COVID.
Not knowing where this all would lead when I signed up 2 years ago, I took the long road, and many opportunities have presented themselves to me along the way. I was honored to present my (rather long) graduation project on the Biomechanics of Yoga to a live audience of YTT students. It brought movement science and ancient wisdom together in such a profound way, and guiding the students through FEELING their bodies in space was quite exciting. While also at the retreat, I brought my own flavor of vinyasa to the students in an afternoon practice class, and it felt like the movement that was channeled through me came directly from my soul. The theme of the class was Authentic Embodiment, and I felt every one of them releasing expectations and judgment of themselves during that magical hour.

On the plane ride home, I received clarity that I am being called to share my knowledge and teachings in the subject of anatomy and biomechanics specifically with the yoga community. I knew I had to teach a version of my graduation project at Vermont Be True Yoga Fest in Fairlee, VT, an amazing weekend retreat I have attended and enjoyed twice since the festival began 6 years ago. I am so excited to have such a stage and audience with whom to share this information, and also to experience the guided interoception in their bodies! More details and schedule to come!
For months prior to my YTT graduation, I have been looking for the right opportunity to share my unique flavor of vinyasa with the community, and practice-teaching at my training retreat emphasized that calling. I am happy to announce I will be teaching a strength-based, music-driven vinyasa at White River Ballet Academy in downtown White River Junction, VT, Mondays at 10am beginning May 2nd! You can find more details about the Vibe & Flow class here and sign up by filling out this form, or via email at saralamiept@gmail.com. Drop-in is $18, and punch cards soon to come! I am also working on sign-ups and payment through my website, so stay tuned!
I am currently accepting new clients for Physical Therapy and Personal Training at River Street Studios in Windsor, VT, and soon also at White River Ballet Academy in White River Junction (PT only).
